The new flagship Cat® S75 unveiled at MWC 2023

Enhanced by Bullitt Satellite Messenger, the Cat S75 is the most reliable phone ever for advanced two-way satellite messaging, location sharing and SOS assistance.

MWC Barcelona, February 24th 2023.

Bullitt Group, the innovative British mobile phone manufacturer, has unveiled its new flagship Cat phone, the Cat S75. With industry leading rugged credentials, the device shrugs off anything that life throws at it, even loss of signal. As well as super-fast 5G connectivity, the Cat S75 also includes MediaTek’s state of the art NTN (non-terrestrial network) chip that enables direct connectivity to geostationary satellites 37,500km above the earth making it possible to send a message or make an SOS assistance request, even in areas without mobile coverage*

Our toughest handset yet, the Cat S75 is built to survive. It’s tested to the extreme with repeated drops onto steel plates from up to 1.8 meters and is impervious to dust, sand and dirt ingress. It’s highly waterproof and tested to a depth of 5 meters as well as being able to handle high pressure water jets. This earns the Cat S75 IP68 and IP69K ratings. But we don’t stop there – the Cat S75 was also put through rigorous Mil-Spec 810H testing which ensures the phone can survive extremes of temperature, high humidity, salt fog conditions, vibration and tumble tests.

The Cat S75 can be cleaned and sanitized with soap and water or alcohol wipes, and includes Bullitt’s Hygiene+ technology – with all external surfaces of the device containing antimicrobial silver ions.

Despite its ‘beyond rugged’ credentials and 6.6” display (FHD+ 120Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio) the Cat S75 is slim and very pocketable. A 5000mAh battery provides up to 2-days of power with support for 15W fast-charging and Qi wireless charging. It is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 930 octa-core 2.2GHz processor, with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable via MicroSD card. It includes a triple camera array (50MP main sensor, 8MP wide sensor, 2MP macro sensor) with an underwater mode on the rear, and 8MP front-facing camera. Launching on Android 12, the Cat S75 will receive two OS updates – and 5 years of security patches.**

For the last 10 years we have been setting the standards for rugged phones both in terms of reliability and innovation. I’m proud to say that, with the Cat S75, we are once again raising the bar. The S75 has all of the class leading rugged credentials you would expect from a Cat phone, combined with ultra-fast 5G and direct-to-satellite connectivity. The S75 offers a whole new level of resilience to mobile communications that other smartphones just can’t match. This is the best Cat phone we have ever made.

The Cat S75 with Bullitt Satellite Messenger provides unbreakable connections with colleagues, friends and family whenever you find yourself on the fringes of coverage. Always connected, it offers improved productivity for your business even in remote, out-of-signal areas. Lone workers are safer, mission critical and business critical communications are immediately more resilient. Constant communication is at the heart of every successful business or mission, and the Cat S75 is business ready with support for Android Enterprise, and compatibility tested with leading EMM solutions.

Satellite technology for any smartphone is the next big step in mobile connectivity, and what MediaTek has delivered with its stand-alone, standards-based satellite communications chip. We successfully worked with Bullitt, integrating our 3GPP NTN technology and chipset into the world's first commercially available devices with two-way satellite messaging.

It’s a significant advancement for remote users and emergency services, but this technology also paves the way for other unique smartphone satellite communication and connectivity markets.

Bullitt Satellite Messenger: Providing direct-to-satellite mobile phone technology for two-way satellite messaging

Bullitt Satellite Messenger is the first 3GPP standards-based satellite NTN or ‘direct-to-satellite’ messaging service for mobile phones***. The new Cat S75 leverages the MediaTek NTN chip and Bullitt Satellite Messenger to access a network of geostationary satellites, providing affordable and continuous coverage internationally.

Sending or receiving messages or sending an SOS assistance request via satellite requires a subscription and an NTN enabled device. But anyone, on any phone, can receive a message from someone using Bullitt Satellite Messenger service. They will receive this as an SMS and can respond by downloading the free-to-use iOS or Android version of the Bullitt Satellite Messenger app, available in the App Store or Play Store.

Subscribers to the Bullitt Satellite Messenger service benefit from a twelve month free of charge trial of SOS Assist providing 24/7 access to emergency response centres provided by FocusPoint International. Direct-to-satellite messaging plans start from as little as €4.99 per month, with other flexible and heavier usage plans also available.
